| The
2007 Event
Jill
Rowe, the Area Fundraising Manager for Macmillan Cancer Support,
attended this year's event held at Richard & Louise’s
home in Guiseley on Friday 28 September. A day
full of blessings and fun helped to raise a remarkable £1,441.66.
A massive thank you to all the people who generously participated
in various different ways. Local businesses, friends [some travelling
a distance] and neighbours all gave such tremendous help to
Macmillan Cancer Support. The money raised will be used
locally to provide practical, medical, emotional, and financial
support to people living with cancer.
Louise started
holding this annual event in 2002 at her “food elements”
in Guiseley, and since selling the business has continued it at
her home. Ken Pollard of Otley, her father, who actively supports
the charity, may ultimately need the services of the Cancer Care
charities. Louise says: “it's so important to take time out
for a focused day and to contribute whatever we can towards providing
help with such things as funding another Macmillan Nurse in the
area".
