Warning. If using a glass lined cafetiere ALWAYS use a spoon in the glass to direct the heat away from the glass. Very serious accidents and scalds can be caused by exploding cafetieres!

Tip. All cafetiere capacity is measured in 'demi-tasse' - espresso cup size. Therefore you can divide by 2 to get the average cup size. A 5 demi-tasse equals 2 large cups - ideal for breakfast use!

The Grind
FINE - ESPRESSO
MEDIUM - FILTER
COARSE - CAFETIERE

[You will not obtain a satisfactory
result with ground coffee "suitable for
all equipment"]

Freshly ground beans give the best result (& aroma!)


The Coffee
Choose the coffee to suit your taste, equipment, time of day or occasion.


The Measure 
Guideline - 28gms per pint = 4 scoops    (Scoop = 7gm)
3 cup cafetiere ½ pt water ½ oz (14gm) 2 scoops coffee
8 cup cafetiere 2pt water 2oz (56gm) 8 scoops coffee

The Storage
Store in an airtight container, preferably grind fresh - you can even freeze beans and grind straight from the freezer!


Why not consider having your own grinder, I recommend 'Gaggia', 'Bodum' or 'Kitchenaid'. Remember we can freshly grind the coffee to your preference
